Finally, Baby Kimye has a name! E! News has confirmed that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's little daughter is named - North West.

A source close to the couple confirms to E! News that the girl's name is North West, with no middle name. According to a source, "They will call her Nori for short!"

"She has black straight hair! Lots of it! Looks like a good mix of both of them (Kanye and Kim) but more like Kim," says the source.

Ghanaian footballer Michael Essien secretly weds his publicist

There have been speculations for months now that Ghanaian footballer and Chelsea star Michael Essien is married to his publicist, Akosua Puni, a report they both never denied or confirmed. The report was regarded as mere speculation until last week Friday when Akosua introduced herself as Mrs Akosua Puni Essien at a cocktail charity event - Game Of Hope - organized by Michael Essien.

Akosua was in charge of the event and everyone who worked with her referred to her as Mrs Essien. The Ghanaian showbiz personality and socialite is also the head of the Michael Essien Foundation.

Michael and Akosua had a child together shortly after his relationship with Nadia Buari ended a few years back, though the football star has never acknowledged being married and does not wear a ring.

He has three kids from two different women.

The father of the little girl said he flogged her with the cord of his handset charger because she was disturbing him from watching TV. The mother thinks the marks on her daughter’s back were for ritual purposes. But let's even accept he only flogged her; how can you flog a 1 year old like this? Vanguard Metro, gathered that Huwaila Abdulahi, 22, who has been separated from her husband, is asking the Commission to investigate and unravel the mystery behind the strange marks all over the back of her 14 months old daughter. Although the estranged housewife is not seeking for a divorce, she is demanding for justice for her innocent baby as the 14 marks were not there when the father sent one Ibrahim to bring the little girl to spend some time with him.

The man, identified as Ibrahim Haladu, is being accused of carrying out a ritual on his child. He has been invited by the Commission to explain the strange marks on his daughter’s back. But he is insisting that he only flogged his daughter with the cord of his handset charger. He denied that the marks were for ritual purposes.

In spite of his statement, many people who saw the strange marks on the child were not convinced of his testimony as they believed they were carefully incised.

In his account of the incident, Ibrahim said: “I was watching an Arab channel but she would not let me be with her cries. I was enjoying the programme, but her cries kept distracting me. I was provoked so I brought out my charger phone wire and flogged her. My first wife Aisha who heard her cries came out and was shouting at me to stop. She was even angry and rebuked me for beating her like that. I regret my action.

The marks on my daughter’s body is not for ritual purposes as wrongly insinuated by some people. I can never use my child for ritual. It is unfortunate that my wife had to drag me to the Sharia Commission because she has a grouse against me. We have been having problems with her, but that is between us. Why should I go to the extent of using my child for ritual? I only beat her as a father. I don’t belong to any cult or secret society”.

Some residents of the Tirwun, a suburb of Bauchi, where Ibrahim allegedly carried out the beating of his baby were left in shock on seeing Sahura with the 14 strange marks on her back. They called for thorough investigation into the case so as to unravel the motive behind his action.

Ibrahim moved to his house in Tirwin with his first wife, Aisha leaving his second wife, Huweila with his parents. Hajiya Huwaila told VM that her husband occasionally comes to pick Sahura to spend some time with him since they were not living together. According to her: “My husband, his first wife and I lived with his parents at Bakin Kura before he moved with his first wife to Tirwun, leaving me and my daughter Sahura behind.

But he occasionally comes to take the baby to spend some time with him in his new place and bring her back. One day he sent one Ibrahim to come and bring Sahura; this was around one in the afternoon. But when they brought back my daughter, I noticed something unusual about her because she kept crying and I wondered what was wrong with her.

When I checked her body, I saw some strange marks all over her back”. Huwaila said she quickly rushed to the Bauchi State Shari’ah Commission to lodge a complaint after she confronted her husband who claimed he only flogged Sahura because she was disturbing him with her cries.

The permanent Commissioner II of the State Shari’ah Commission, Jibril Hassan, confirmed that Huwaila lodged a complaint prompting the commission to summon the husband. Hassan added that the commission was investigating the issue and would charge the father of the girl to court at the appropriate time. He also said that if found guilty of the accusations leveled against him, the accused would be charged to court.

Chris Brown removes duet with Rihanna from his upcoming album

According to celebrity entertainment site, Hollywood Life, Chris Brown wants the duet he made with Rihanna back when they were still together cut from his upcoming sixth studio album, X. Rihanna and Chris collaborated on a song titled Put It Up, that was set to appear on the album but not any more as Chris wants it removed and wouldn’t allow the album to be released unless his label removes the song. Record execs are still hoping to convince Chris or pay him more to change his mind because it would be a hit. So far he is said to be adamant.

X is scheduled to be released July 16.

Gov Fashola stops his aides from organising elaborate 50th birthday party

Lagos State governor Babatunde Fashola will turn 50 on June 28th. His aides were planning an elaborate 50th birthday party but he asked them to stop. He doesn't want to have an elaborate birthday at tax payers expense. I love my governor. Read what he told City People below:

"By nature I am not a ceremonious person. I don't like all the noise and partying. When I saw all the plans going on for my 50th, I said no. If this is my day, then those who really love me should allow me do it the way I want to. I have told my aides how I feel about this whole 50th birthday celebration. I asked them if governors in other countries don't have their birthdays and is it usually in such a loud way and manner? If I do it my own way it won't cost me that much to receive my visitors. I funded my 40th birthday when I was Chief of Staff and it cost me so much. I am not quite sure I can do the same now. As a Governor, it will cost me more. I am not sure I want to spend that kind of money on parties. And to tell you the truth, the idea that probably I will have a birthday at tax payers expense is something that does not go down well with me, and it's only for 24 hours. So I am going to have a very quiet and simple day with close friends and family.

Dear LIB readers: I'm 20 years old and pregnant for a married man

I am a 20 year old woman living in the UK and also studying here. My parents have been at war since I can remember and I have to rely on my siblings to take care of me, I am reluctant to ask them though as everyone works hard and times are difficult.

I have had my fair share of horrible boyfriends in the past few years, I have dated so many stingy men that would not give me a penny but I am usually not bothered about this as I don't date men because of their money. I have although since decided to remain single and just have the usual one night stand because I am tired of the constant heartbreak and pain. Until recently.

I recently got introduced to a married man and the initial plan was to have him spend on me, I didn't want to but as I was about to be kicked out of my flat for lack of payments I did what I had to. I wasn't going to go any further with him but he turned out to be really nice. I tried to cut contact with him but unfortunately he had fallen head over heels in love with me. If he doesn't see me or hear from me in an hour he becomes frantic and agitated. He tells all his friends here in the Uk about me, takes me to their houses and introduces me as his girlfriend.

This is a man with a wife and 4 beautiful children whom I happen to know very well through him introducing me to them. He keeps saying he would make me his second wife which of course I don't believe and always has sex with me unprotected despite my refusal. Also he has not given me any more money since he paid my rent for the owed 2 months, any time I ask him he gives one excuse or the other, even paying for my cab to wherever is too much to ask of him. I desperately want to get out of it but now I think I might be pregnant for him.

I'm so confused about the next step, I'm scared if I tell him I'm pregnant he'll disappear but I also can't take care of a child on my own as I have not even graduated from university. I've thought about going to tell his wife but I'll just be labelled a home wrecker and loaded with all the blame. Please what do I do?

I was sexually molested by a man when I was a kid and I was looking for an opportunity to fight it so that such won't happen to our children because there men whom are animals out there.

Everybody is judging me, Can a sinner judge a sinner? You don't know me so don't judge me, so many of you giving negative comments do worse than any man could imagine. Am feminine and I act feminine doesn't mean am gay or looking for some useless gay men to date or spend their dirty money on me, i am a young entrepreneur and I work hard for my money and my parents extremely satisfy me.

With all these negative comments, I guess you expect me to go commit suicide and that will make you all murderers cus you've killed a human being who needs your advise and not curses and irrelevant gossips and mockery. Am so inspired with all these unnecessary negativity.

You call me an attention seeker? Lol! I know so many of you wish to be on Linda Ikeji's blog, well your time will come and I pray it won't be your downfall that would be all over the internet. You call me a gay? How am I sure you're not also gay or lesbian, or are you a virgin? So many of you practice worse, armed robbers, fornication, adultery, drug dealers, masturbation, abortion, twosome/thressome/groupies, being fetish, husband snatchers, yahoo yahoo and so many horrible things.
