Jonathan Leibson/WireImageIt hasn't taken Krysten Ritter long to bounce back from the cancellation of her sharp show "Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23."
After years of playing the snarky sidekick, she's started snagging bigger roles in upcoming films like Tim Burton's "Big Eyes" and the adaptation of "Veronica Mars." The latest movie she's signed on for is the curiously named indie "Asthma."
"Asthma" marks the directorial debut of Jake Hoffman, son of Dustin. The younger Hoffman is turning his lens on "the consequences of the live fast, die young mentality in NYC's indie rock scene," which doesn't give us a whole lot of information (especially since it's debatable what constitutes the "indie rock scene" in New York City these days). Albert Hammond Jr. from The Strokes will be appearing as himself, so we could guess "Asthma" takes place in the early '00s.
Ritter's a delight as an undead babe in Amy Heckerling's "Vamps"; she entranced us and Jesse Pinkman in "Breaking Bad"; and she charmed us in "Veronica Mars." Let's hope the actress gets to take a big bite out of this indie.
