Omotola let her hair down and celebrated in style with her fellow honorees on April 23rd, 2013 at Time Warner Center, New York .She looked elegantly beautiful in Nigerian fashion designer Iconic Ivanity’s custom designed black gown, accessorized with Nigerian luxury jewelry designer Nehita’s 18 karat white gold black diamond encrusted earrings and a diamond onyx cocktail ring set in 18 karat yellow gold. Omotola was further honored and pleasantly surprised to find her portrait was one of the 20 honorees chosen to be proudly displayed on the wall of fame at the event.
The gala was truly memorable and she was delighted to share the moment with her fellow honorees of past and present like Vice President Joe Biden, Jimmy Fallon, Ariana Huffington, Steven Speilberg, Shonda Rhimes, Barbara Walters, Christina Aguilera and many more.
In her words; “When I was first informed that TIME Magazine had contacted my team about this great honor, I first thought I was being Punk’d. Quoting the Vice President Mr. Joe Biden “Being on the Time’s list is a testament that you are doing a great job in your various fields and are expected to do even more”.
I am definitely inspired to continue the work I’m doing in my artistry, my foundation O.Y.E.P (Omotola Youth Empowerment Program), UN and Amnesty international. This honor will always be indelibly etched in my memory. It is a very exciting time in my career and life and I am grateful to Time Magazine for recognizing my work and giving me another platform to help bring favorable attention to Africa.

I share this honor with my husband, children, family, professional team and my wonderful fans all over the world that never ceases to amaze me with their undying support. I am proud to be Nigerian and my hope is for my journey to be a gateway in bridging any gap within Africa and the West artistically and philanthropically”.
Michael Djaba from Omotola’s management describes the news and event succinctly. “Omotola is the epitome of what bankable, young, artistically rich, success stories can look like direct from Africa and on the global stage.
